Dr. Mark Konewko is a Professor of Practice in the Department of Digital Media and Performing Arts at Marquette University, where he also serves as University Carillonneur, Director of the University Chorus, and Director of the Chamber Choir. He holds a Ph.D. and MBA from Cardinal Stritch University, a Certificate of Excellence in Carillon from the University of Utrecht (Netherlands), and an M.Mus in Organ Performance from the American Conservatory of Music.

Research Interests include the intersection of technology and choral art (e.g., Eric Whitacre’s work), nanosculptures in music, Olivier Messiaen’s compositional style, early Italian organ music, carillon development, American folk traditions, and music for theater/film. He has presented and published globally, including in Lithuania, Russia, and Greece.
Professional Experience: Led choirs and performed internationally (Germany, Netherlands, France, Italy). Composed music for theatrical productions like Midsummer Night’s Dream, Cherry Orchard, and Joan of Arc. Served as Director of Music and Liturgy at Saint Eugene Congregation and peer reviewer for ATINER and Lithuanian Academy of Music and Theatre.
