Professor Stephen Greaves is a Professor in Transport Management at the University of Sydney's Institute of Transport & Logistics Studies (ITLS), within the Sydney Business School. He holds a BA (Hons) from Leeds, an MSc from Cardiff, and a PhD from Louisiana State University (2000). His research focuses on sustainable transport, environmental policy, and public health, particularly non-motorised transport and active mobility. He has led grants such as 'Looking for Positives: Health, Wellbeing and Active Transport Following a Pandemic' (2020) and 'Health by Stealth: Developing strategies to increase active and public transport' (2017).
Recent work includes studies on e-scooter legalization, public transport incentives, and the health impacts of transport policies. He is affiliated with the Sydney Southeast Asia Centre and The Net Zero Institute. Media engagements include ABC News discussions on e-scooter regulation and pandemic-related transport shifts.
