Stephanie Wardrop

Stephanie Wardrop is a Professor of English in the Department of English, Communication, Cultures and Arts at Western New England University. She teaches a variety of courses including British Literature, American Literature, Women in Literature, and Young Adult Literature.

Her educational background includes a BA from Kutztown University of Pennsylvania, an MA in British and American Literature from The College of William and Mary, and a PhD in English with a certificate in Women's Studies from SUNY at Stony Brook.

Dr. Wardrop's research focuses on film and television studies, British literature, popular culture, women's studies, and girls' studies. Her work often examines the intersection of gender, media, and cultural representation, with particular attention to how women and girls are portrayed in contemporary media and literature. She has published on topics ranging from feminist interpretations of horror films to analyses of romance literature and miscegenation in American romance narratives.

Dr. Wardrop is also an accomplished author of young adult fiction, having written the 'Snark and Circumstance' e-novella series based on Pride and Prejudice. Her creative work demonstrates her deep engagement with literary adaptation and contemporary young adult culture.

She maintains an active blog called 'World's Oldest Fledgling' where she discusses literature, film, and writing. She is also a member of Indie Ignites, a collective of debut authors.

Dr. Wardrop is particularly known for her insightful analyses of popular culture phenomena, including her writings on Bob's Burgers and its portrayal of adolescent girlhood, as well as her thoughtful commentary on young adult literature and its cultural significance.
