Dr. Christian Krug is a Senior Lecturer at the Friedrich-Alexander-Universität Erlangen-Nürnberg, affiliated with the Department of English and American Studies and Romance Studies. He holds the academic rank of Akademischer Oberrat and is part of the Chair of English Cultural and Literary Studies under Prof. Dr. Claudia Lillge. His research focuses on popular culture, sentimentality studies, and cultural theory, with a particular emphasis on the ideological underpinnings of cultural practices. He is a member of the Global Sentimentality Network and contributes to the DFG Research Training Group.
