Dr. Kelly Doyle is a Lecturer in the Department of English at Kwantlen Polytechnic University, where she teaches courses in English Literature, Critical Theory, and Film Studies. Her research and teaching focus on horror films, Gothic literature, and their intersections with posthumanism, gender, race, and ethics.

Dr. Doyle's research interrogates the boundaries of humanity through the lens of horror, particularly examining how monsters like zombies and vampires challenge identity politics and societal norms. She employs posthuman philosophy to analyze gendered, racialized, and ethical dimensions in horror films and television.
Her publications from 2009–2024 explore themes such as gender coding in horror subgenres, posthumanism in zombie narratives, and regional Gothic traditions. She actively contributes to the horror academic community as a guest speaker and judge for the Vancouver Horror Show Film Festival, and as an advisory board member for Mise-en-Scene: A Journal of Film and Visual Narration.
