Karen Macfarlane

Dr. Karen Macfarlane is Professor of English at Mount Saint Vincent University, specializing in Gothic literature and cultural theory. Her research examines monsters, imperialist narratives in fin-de-siècle fiction, and postmodern representations of gender. Education includes PhD from McGill University and MA/BA (Hons) from Queen's University.

Publications analyze cultural phenomena from Lady Gaga's aesthetics to zombie narratives. Recent keynotes include 'Where Have All the Monsters Gone?' at the International Gothic Association Conference.
