Stephanie Hopp, MSN-RN, CPN, is an Assistant Professor in the Nursing department at Clarkson College, where she has taught since 2010. Her academic journey includes a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the University of Nebraska Medical Center, a Master of Science in Nursing Education from Nebraska Wesleyan University, and current doctoral studies in Education and Leadership at Clarkson College (projected graduation May 2024). She previously worked as a pediatric nurse at Children’s Nebraska Hospital and Urgent Care before transitioning to academia.
Her research interests focus on nursing education, clinical judgment, and healthcare professional well-being. She actively contributes to institutional governance through roles in the Faculty Senate and Critical Success Factor and Institutional Review Board committees. Notable awards include the 2021 Dr. Patricia Book Perry Teaching Excellence Award and multiple recognitions for teaching excellence and clinical nursing.
She teaches courses such as NRS 116 (Introduction to Professional Nursing Concepts and Clinical Judgment) and NRS 345 (Family-Centered Nursing Care of Children). Her scholarly work emphasizes resilience in healthcare professionals, evidenced by presentations on wellness strategies and self-care practices. She has also engaged in adjunct roles at institutions like Creighton University and Bryan School of Health Sciences.
