Nancy McMahon, MSN, RN, CPN, is an Associate Professor in the Nursing department at Clarkson College since 2015. She holds a Bachelor’s in Nursing and a Master’s in Pediatric Clinical Nurse Specialist from the University of Nebraska Medical Center. Her roles include co-chair of the Undergraduate Nursing curriculum committee and leadership in the English Language Learner (ELL) testing pilot. She is an IPE Champion since 2016, driving interprofessional education (IPE) initiatives and strategic planning.
Her research focuses on pediatric nursing, interprofessional collaboration, and qualitative studies. Notable contributions include developing the IPE 301 course and co-creating a pediatric virtual medical center using the NCSBN Clinical Judgment Model. Her work emphasizes family-centered care and improving educational strategies for healthcare professionals.
Her scholarly output spans presentations on IPE outcomes, clinical judgment models, and pediatric care challenges. Awards include the 2020 Dr. Patricia Book Perry Faculty of the Year Award. Beyond academia, she volunteers with Cub Scouts and creates handmade donations for hospitals through sewing and quilting.
