Dr. Stephanie Corcoran is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Curriculum Instruction at the University of Alabama at Birmingham's School of Education. She directs the School Psychology/Psychometry program and holds roles as President of the Alabama Association of School Psychologists (AASP) and National Delegate for the National Association of School Psychologists (NASP). She also serves as an Associate Scientist at the Civitan International Research Center.
Dr. Corcoran earned a B.A. in Multiple Abilities (Elementary Education, Special Education, Early Childhood) from the University of Alabama, followed by a master’s in school psychometry and a Ph.D. in School Psychology from the same institution. She has extensive experience as a special education teacher, school psychometrist, and school psychologist in Alabama and South Carolina.
Her research focuses on educational technology integration, psychometric assessment tools, and inclusive education practices. Recent work explores AI’s role in school psychology and technology-driven assessment methods. Her earlier studies addressed literacy initiatives, adaptive behavior assessments, and classroom practices.
Dr. Corcoran is certified as a Nationally Certified School Psychologist (NCSP #33737) with endorsements in School Psychologist, Psychometrist, and Collaborative Special Education. She has advised students through UAB’s School Psychology program and collaborates with institutions like Civitan International Research Center.
