Stephan Schill

Stephan Schill serves as Professor of International and Economic Law and Governance at the University of Amsterdam's Faculty of Law within the Department of Public International Law. He concurrently holds the position of Senior Research Affiliate at the Max Planck Institute for Comparative Public Law and International Law, having previously served as a Senior Research Fellow there from 2009 to 2015.

His academic credentials include a PhD from Goethe University Frankfurt (2008), an LL.M. from New York University School of Law (2007-2008), and an LL.M. in International Economic Law from the University of Augsburg (2001-2002). Admitted to both the New York and German bars, he clerked at the International Court of Justice under Judge Abdul G. Koroma and with arbitrator Charles N. Brower.

Professor Schill's research spans International Investment Law, International Dispute Resolution, and International Arbitration, with additional expertise in State Responsibility, EU Law, and Comparative Public Law.
