Silvia Karin Steininger

Dr. Silvia Karin Steininger is a Senior Research Fellow at the Max Planck Institute for Comparative Public Law and International Law and a Postdoctoral Researcher at the Hertie School Berlin since 2023. She lectures at the University of Amsterdam (2024 - ) and Karlshochschule International University (2020 - ). Her research focuses on interdisciplinary approaches to international law, human rights, investment arbitration, and political theory.

Her research interests span international law, human rights, investment arbitration, political theory, international organizations, and courts. She explores institutional resilience of human rights regimes, communication practices of courts, and intersections between human rights and economic governance.

Her recent publications focus on the role of human rights in investment law, pandemic-era legal developments, and interdisciplinary methodologies. She has contributed to journals like Global Constitutionalism, European Law Open, and the Yearbook on International Investment Law & Policy.
