Stephan Hammel

Stephan Hammel is an Associate Professor in the Department of Music at the University of California, Irvine. His research centers on historical materialist frameworks for analyzing music, Marxist approaches to musicology, and the intersection of music, politics, and culture. He is a core faculty member in the History and Theory of Music PhD program, contributing to graduate education in music history and theory.
