Jonathan Gibson is a Professor of Musicology at the School of Music, James Madison University. He holds a Ph.D. and A.M. from Duke University and a B.M. from the University of Richmond. His research focuses on Baroque music aesthetics, particularly late 17th-century France, sound studies, material studies, historical performance practices, and music history pedagogy. He teaches graduate and undergraduate courses in musicology, historically-informed performance, and ethnomusicology.
