Stefan Ekecrantz is a Senior Lecturer at Stockholm University's Department of Education, where he is affiliated with the Higher Education Learning Practices (HELP) research group. His work focuses on theoretical and empirical research on different aspects of higher education.
Ekecrantz's research interests center on higher education pedagogy, with particular emphasis on disciplinary boundaries between subjects. His work explores how students can better understand both inter- and intra-disciplinary boundaries by examining points where disciplines intersect. He has conducted significant research on the relationship between History and Literature, particularly regarding narration and narrativity.
His notable 2017 publication examines disciplinary intersections regarding narration and narrativity in Literature and History, building on Marton's variation theory and Vygotsky's notion of articulation. This research adapts Shoshana Felman's notion of key narratives for analyzing disciplinary practices, using William Faulkner's novel Absalom, Absalom! as a case study.
Ekecrantz is part of the Higher Education Learning Practices (HELP) research group at Stockholm University, which engages in theoretical and empirical research on different aspects of higher education. The group focuses on understanding learning practices within higher education contexts and developing pedagogical approaches that enhance disciplinary understanding.
