Stefan Anderberg is a Professor at Linköping University, affiliated with the Department of Management and Engineering (IEI) and the division of Environmental Technology and Management (MILJÖ). He is actively involved in sustainability research, particularly in biogas systems, urban infrastructure, and circular economy, and is associated with the Biogas Research Center (BRC) and the Unit for Sustainable Materials Management (MILJORES).
His research interests focus on sustainability transitions, environmental policy, and resource efficiency. Key areas include biogas development, plastic waste recycling, and sustainable management of urban water infrastructure. His work integrates systems thinking and interdisciplinary approaches to address environmental challenges in Swedish and European contexts.
The recent publications (2023–2025) demonstrate a strong trend in sustainability assessment, policy analysis, and infrastructure systems. Articles explore the intersection of sustainability research fields, policy risks in renewable energy, and material flows in urban waste, reflecting a commitment to applied environmental science and policy-relevant outcomes.
Stefan Anderberg has received research funding from Formas, the Swedish research council for sustainable development, with projects contributing to sustainable urban transformation and resource management. His collaborative work includes partnerships with researchers across environmental technology and engineering disciplines.
He is associated with the Biogas Research Center and contributes to advancing sustainable materials management through systems-based research. His work supports long-term goals in environmental technology and urban sustainability.
