Stanley L. Roberts serves as Associate Dean, Arthur Lowndes Rich Professor of Choral Conducting, and Director of Choral Studies at Mercer University's Townsend School of Music, where he has led the Mercer Singers and Mercer Women’s Chamber Choir since 1995. He also directs the 80-voice Choral Society of Middle Georgia and collaborates internationally with ensembles across Europe, Russia, and Japan.

Research Focus: Dr. Roberts specializes in gender-specific choral techniques and SSA ensemble development, evidenced by presentations like “I’m Positive…Building the SSA Choir.” His work integrates church music advocacy through editing the “Celebrating Grace” hymnal and international cultural exchange via performances at St. Paul’s Cathedral and Carnegie Hall.

Mentorship & Leadership: Founder of “jubilate!”, a youth choir initiative touring the southern U.S. since 1994. Current ACDA Southern Region President with extensive clinician work for All-State Choirs and NAfME conferences. Teaches graduate/undergraduate conducting courses while advising emerging choral educators.
Ensemble Direction: Leads award-winning groups including the Mercer Singers (featured in PBS’s Emmy®-recognized “A Grand Mercer Christmas”) and collaborates with Warwick University Chamber Choir and St. Petersburg University Chamber Choir across 7 international tours.
