Dr. David Dehner serves as Director of Choral Studies and Associate Professor at Oral Roberts University (ORU), with a distinguished 35+ year career spanning music education, vocal pedagogy, church music, and choral conducting across academic, church, and international performance settings.
His academic credentials include:
- Bachelor’s in Music from Lee University
- Master of Vocal Performance and Choral Conducting from Middle Tennessee State University
- Postgraduate studies in Voice, Conducting, and Counterpoint at University of Alabama
- Doctorate of Musical Arts in Voice, Musicology, and Music Theory from Southern Baptist Theological Seminary
- Westminster Choir College’s Choral Institute at Oxford University
Dr. Dehner specializes in vocal health optimization, expressive choral techniques, and spirit-empowered performance pedagogy, developing nationally recognized curricula for young singers. His work bridges academic theory with practical applications in church music and educational ensembles, emphasizing choral voicing, blend, and artistic expression.
