His research focuses on practice theory and process philosophy, particularly how time, materiality, and social organization shape everyday life. Key empirical domains include energy demand, public health, and the sociology of consumption, with a forthcoming monograph on Practice Theory and Process Philosophy: Towards a Sociology of Becoming (Routledge, 2025).

He explores non-communicable disease prevention through practice theory and examines materiality in healthcare and urban contexts. His work integrates philosophy of process with empirical social science to develop dynamic methodologies.
Dr. Blue supervises PhD projects on practice theory, time/space, materiality, and public health-related topics (e.g., smoking, obesity, exercise). He has been affiliated with institutions including the DEMAND Centre, Norah Fry Institute, and RMIT's Centre for Urban Research.
