Stan Link is an Associate Professor of Composition, Philosophy, and Analysis of Music at the Blair School of Music, Vanderbilt University, since 1999. Previously, he taught at La Trobe University (Australia, 1995–1998) and the University of Illinois (1998). He holds a B.M. from Oberlin, and M.F.A. and Ph.D. from Princeton.
His research focuses on composition, computer music, and electro-acoustic music, with works performed globally (e.g., Electronic Music Midwest, Third Practice Festival). His scholarly publications appear in Perspectives of New Music, Music Theory Spectrum, and American Music, exploring intersections of technology, music theory, and contemporary performance practices.
