Scott F Lee is an Assistant Professor of Composition at the University of Florida's School of Music, where he teaches composition and electronic music. His academic background includes a Ph.D. from Duke University (mentored by Scott Lindroth and Steve Jaffe), a Master of Music from the Peabody Institute under Michael Hersch, and a Bachelor of Music from Vanderbilt University's Blair School of Music.
Lee's research explores the intersection of concert music and popular genres, creating works performed by major orchestras including the Baltimore Symphony and North Carolina Symphony. He has collaborated with artists ranging from chamber ensembles like yMusic to pop musician Ben Folds.
Notable recognitions include two ASCAP Morton Gould Awards, a Charles Ives Scholarship, and residencies with the Atlanta Symphony Youth Orchestra. His community engagement includes teaching at-risk youth through Peabody's Junior Bach program.
