Professor Stacy Banwell is a Professor of Criminology at the University of Greenwich, School of Law and Criminology. She joined the university in 2007 after completing her undergraduate and postgraduate studies at the University of Wales, Bangor, where her thesis examined women's subjective accounts of violent behavior.
Her research focuses on feminist perspectives in criminology, gender-based violence during armed conflicts, reproductive justice, and the application of criminological frameworks to non-human animals. Recent work explores how climate change intersects with atrocity crimes and gendered violence.
Publications demonstrate a strong interdisciplinary approach, combining international law, environmental studies, and feminist theory to analyze reproductive violence in both human and non-human contexts. Her 15 most recent articles (2023-2025) consistently explore themes of speciesism, war crimes against animals, and climate justice through intersectional feminist lenses.
No scientific awards or student mentoring relationships were mentioned in the source materials.
She maintains active research profiles on ResearchGate, LinkedIn, Google Scholar, and ORCID, but no specific laboratories or research teams were referenced.
