Dr. Megan Johnson is a Lecturer in Law at the University of Greenwich's School of Law and Criminology. An interdisciplinary sexual violence scholar, her research examines rape law through critical race and feminist theoretical frameworks.
Her work investigates how rape law is weaponized to perpetuate racialized myths, with particular focus on English and Welsh criminal justice responses. Additional research areas include domestic violence, sexual violence in conflict, image-based sexual abuse, human trafficking, and abusive pornography.
Dr. Johnson holds an LLB (Hons), LLM, and PhD in Law from the University of Bristol, where her doctoral studies were scholarship-funded. Prior to joining Greenwich, she taught Criminal Law, Criminal Evidence, and International Criminal Law at the University of Bristol and University of Southampton.
