Professor Sotirios Paroutis is a Professor of Strategic Management at the Warwick Business School (WBS), part of the University of Warwick. He leads the Strategy and International Business (SIB) Group and teaches across MSc, MBA, and Executive programs. His research focuses on strategy practice, discourse, tools, and paradox management. He has received multiple awards including the Emerald Citations of Excellence and the Journal of Management Studies Best Paper Award. Paroutis serves on editorial boards for journals like Long Range Planning and Journal of Management. His work bridges theoretical contributions with practical applications, emphasizing visual strategy tools and organizational ambidexterity.
Education: PhD in Strategy and Organization from the University of Bath, MSc (Distinction) in Management Science from WBS, and BSc in Management from Athens University of Economics and Business.
Research interests include strategy process dynamics, strategic leadership, and platform ecosystems. He has advised organizations like IBM, E.On, and UBS, and his work appears in top journals such as Strategic Management Journal and Academy of Management Journal. Current roles include Program Chair of the Strategizing Activities and Practices (SAP) Interest Group at the Academy of Management.
