Her academic career includes previous positions as a temporary teaching and research assistant (ATER) at the University of Nice Sophia Antipolis and research allocation roles from 2006-2009.
Her educational background includes a PhD in Economic Sciences from the University of Nice Sophia Antipolis/GREDEG-CNRS with highest honors ("Très Honorable avec Félicitations"). Her doctoral research focused on "Capital-investment and firm performance: theoretical foundations and analysis of the French case," supervised by Professors Michel Rainelli and Muriel Dal Pont Legrand.
Dr. Pommet's research spans venture capital, innovation financing, business performance, and the economic impacts of short-term rental platforms. She examines how different forms of capital investment affect firm performance, with particular focus on venture capital strategies, syndication motives, and the effectiveness of public innovation policies. Her work bridges theoretical frameworks with empirical analyses of French and European markets, contributing to our understanding of how financial structures support innovation and business growth. She has published in high-impact journals including Research Policy, Small Business Economics, and Economics Letters.
Her recent publications reveal a strong focus on contemporary economic challenges, particularly the intersection of digital platforms and traditional markets. A significant portion of her recent work analyzes short-term rental platforms like Airbnb and their neighborhood effects, while maintaining her longstanding expertise in venture capital and innovation financing. This evolution shows her ability to adapt research interests to emerging economic phenomena while maintaining methodological rigor.
Dr. Pommet has received several notable recognitions for her scholarly work:
- ANDESE Thesis Prize 2011 (2nd place)
- ANDESE Grand Prize 2011
- RIPEC 3 research evaluation achieved in 2024
She actively secures research funding, currently leading an ANR project on green public policies and collaborating on projects examining seasonal rental platforms' impacts on real estate markets. Her recent work with Bpifrance on innovative and international enterprise financing demonstrates her ability to translate academic research into practical policy insights. Dr. Pommet serves in significant administrative roles including Director of the Economics Department (since April 2023), co-responsible for the University Diploma in preparation for top economics and management schools (since September 2024), and co-responsible for the Economics-Management Portal (since April 2023).
