Eric Guerci is a Lecturer in Economic Sciences at Côte d'Azur University, affiliated with the Graduate School of Economics and Management and the GREDEG research laboratory (UMR CNRS 7312). He is also Deputy Director of the Experimental Economics Laboratory of Nice (LEEN) and actively contributes to interdisciplinary research in behavioral, experimental, and computational economics.
Research Interests: His work spans behavioral and experimental economics, agent-based modeling, machine learning applications in economic systems, and the influence of emotions on economic decisions. He has conducted significant research on electricity markets using computational modeling approaches.
Academic Leadership: Guerci has held key roles including Vice-President for Student Entrepreneurship (2020–2021), co-director of the INVENT@UCA 'Disrupt Campus' digital innovation program (2017–2021), and Director of the Educational Support Center (CAP) from 2016 to 2019.
Education:
- Habilitation to Lead Research (HDR) in Economic Sciences, 2021, Côte d'Azur University. Thesis: 'Learning and complexity in the interaction of economic agents'.
- Ph.D. in Information and Communication Sciences and Technologies, University of Genoa (Italy), 2006. Dissertation: 'Empirical analysis and agent-based modeling of Electricity Markets: an engineering approach to Design Economics'.
Grants and Projects: He contributed to INVENT@UCA, a university innovation initiative funded by BPIfrance, promoting digital innovation and student entrepreneurship.
Laboratories and Teams: Active in the Pole History of Ideas, Cognition and Complexity (PHICC) and the MED team (Modelization, Experimentation, Decisions) at GREDEG. He is deeply involved in the Experimental Economics Laboratory of Nice (LEEN), where he serves as Deputy Director.
