Sophie Musitelli is a Professor at the Université de Lille, affiliated with the Faculty of Languages, Culture and Societies and the Department of English Studies. Her research focuses on the intersection of literature and science in Britain from the late 18th to mid-19th century, particularly within the Romanticism period. Situated at the crossroads of literary studies, philosophy of science, and cultural history of science, her work explores how literature engages with scientific objects, methods, and ethical questions, positioning her within the environmental humanities field.
Her research specifically examines Romantic writers such as William Blake, Mary Shelley, Percy Shelley, John Keats, John Clare, and Thomas De Quincey. She is associated with the ULR 4074 - Center for Studies in Civilizations, Languages, and Foreign Literature.
