معرفی
Sophie DENIMAL is an Assistant Professor at the Université de Franche-Comté (UFC), affiliated with the Chrono-environnement research unit (UMR 6249 CNRS/UFC) and the GEODE school. Her research focuses on hydrogeology, environmental geochemistry, and karst systems. She investigates groundwater dynamics, mine pit lake geochemistry, and integrates geophysical methods like nuclear magnetic resonance for subsurface characterization. Her work addresses interdisciplinary challenges in environmental science, particularly in karst aquifers and anthropogenic impacts.
Key research interests include fracture analysis in limestones, piezometric monitoring, and hydrochemical tracing in complex geological settings. Recent studies emphasize the Barrois limestone series and Meuse region karst systems. She collaborates on projects such as CRITICAL PEAT, exploring peatland hydrology and carbon reactivity in the Jura Mountains.
Her publications span over 20 years, with notable contributions in Applied Geochemistry and Water. Research highlights include long-term piezometric studies, karst flow dynamics, and sulfate formation in mine pit lakes. She actively participates in conferences like Eurokarst and AGU Fall Meetings. Sophie DENIMAL’s work bridges field observations, geochemical analysis, and advanced geophysical techniques to address environmental and hydrogeological challenges.
