Sophia Myles is an Assistant Professor at the Johnson Shoyama Graduate School of Public Policy (JSGS) at the University of Regina, with an Adjunct Professor appointment at Laurentian University's School of Kinesiology and Health Sciences. She co-leads the Integrated Care Models Optimizing Scope policy theme at the Canadian Health Workforce Network and has held research roles at the University of Ottawa, Athabasca University, and Memorial University of Newfoundland.

Her research focuses on applied qualitative and mixed-method health policy, emphasizing professional regulation, workforce development, scope of practice, accreditation, social accountability, primary care, interprofessionalism, and underserved areas. She aims to build capacity in professional regulation science through interdisciplinary health and non-health case studies.
Recent work includes CIHR-funded studies on team-based care and primary care nursing scope of practice, SSHRC grants on compassionate regulation, and contributions to pan-Canadian nursing regulation research agendas. Publications span equity in medical education, virtual care ethics, and pandemic-era regulatory adaptations.
