Soon-Yeow Phang is an Associate Professor in the Department of Accounting at Monash University, affiliated with the Monash Business School. He holds fellowships with the Chartered Accountants Australia (CA) and CPA Australia. His research focuses on auditor judgment, sustainability assurance, and audit analytics, contributing to UN Sustainable Development Goals. Phang teaches auditing at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels and supervises Honours and PhD students.
Phang earned his PhD from the Australian National University after working as an auditor in a Big 4 firm. His work bridges academic and industry practices, with projects on sustainability reporting standards, audit risk assessment, and investor perceptions of disclosures.
