Sonia Munro is a Senior Lecturer in TESOL at the Department of Education, School of Business, Education and Law, University of Huddersfield. She is a member of the Huddersfield Centre for Research in Education and Society (HudCRES) and actively supervises PhD students. Her academic career spans over a decade, focusing on bridging research and practice in language education.
- Education: MA in German, PGCE in Modern Languages, Trinity Diploma in TESOL, MA in Applied Linguistics.
Her research interests center on Materials Development in TESOL, Teacher Cognition, and the integration of new technologies in English Language Teaching. She has published extensively on language assessment literacy and its implications for teacher practice. Recent publications highlight trends in literacy education, assessment methodologies, and technology adoption in language teaching.
Her work aligns with the UN Sustainable Development Goals, particularly in education equity and literacy. She has presented at global conferences, including topics like "Global Perspectives on Teacher Cognition and Assessment" (2019) and "ESOL Teachers' Technology Use" (2021).
