Sonia Ghumman

Sonia Ghumman serves as Chair of the Department of Management and Industrial Relations and Professor of Management at the Shidler College of Business, University of Hawaii at Manoa, where she has been a Faculty Fellow since 2011. Her leadership spans academic administration, teaching excellence, and research in organizational behavior.

Dr. Ghumman's research critically examines Multicultural Organizations through cross-cultural leadership dynamics, International Management focusing on global HR strategies, and Influence of Sleep on Work Outcomes investigating fatigue-related productivity losses. Her work bridges theoretical frameworks with practical workplace interventions, emphasizing cultural intelligence in multinational contexts and physiological factors in employee performance.

Her award portfolio demonstrates exceptional impact: triple recipient of the Shidler College Dennis Ching Excellence in Teaching Award (2023, 2019, 2013), Presidential Citation for Meritorious Teaching (2021), and six-time "Professor of the Semester" across MBA and HRM programs.
