Song Wu is Professor of Construction Management and Associate Dean for Research at Nottingham Trent University's School of Architecture Design and the Built Environment, with over 20 years of UK higher education experience. He holds fellowships from the Higher Education Academy, Charted Institute of Building, and Charted Management Institute.
His research specializes in reality computing and Artificial Intelligence applications for construction, including 3D scanning, UAV data capture, AR/VR, and serious game technology. Current leadership includes Network Rail's Panoptic Bridge Management project and over £2.5m in secured grants for projects like AHRC's gender-based violence serious game and Innovate UK KTP initiatives.
Recent publications demonstrate consistent focus on digital transformation in construction, integrating computational methods for structural assessment, energy efficiency, and risk management across civil engineering and computer science domains.
