David Heesom is a Professor of Digital Built Environment at the University of Wolverhampton's School of Architecture and Built Environment, Faculty of Science and Engineering. His career spans 20 years in academia, complemented by prior industry experience as an infrastructure engineer at Atkins and a Royal Academy of Engineering Industrial Secondment at Severn Partnership Ltd.

David's research focuses on digital technologies for architectural design, construction, and operation, including 4D/5D BIM, VR/AR integration, and HBIM for heritage conservation. He has pioneered methods for heritage building translocation and UAS applications in construction.
His recent publications highlight trends in offsite construction, UAS integration, and smart city technologies, with a strong emphasis on practical implementation challenges and policy frameworks in global contexts (UK, Dominican Republic, Brazil).
