Sofia Strid is a Senior Lecturer in the Department of Humanities, Education and Social Sciences at Örebro University. She is also a Professor of Sociology at the University of Gothenburg and an affiliated Associate Professor in Gender Studies at Örebro University. Her work bridges feminist theory, violence studies, and policy analysis, with a focus on intersectionality and institutional responses to gender-based violence.

Her research explores gender-based violence through lenses of intersectionality, welfare state regimes, and feminist institutionalism. Recent publications analyze violence in academic workplaces, sugar dating economies, and the Nordic Paradox in violence against women.
Key themes include policy innovation in gender equality, feminist dialogism, and transnational activism against violence. She collaborates with institutions like European Commission, Policy Press, and Routledge, contributing to global rape prevention frameworks and gender-competent legal education.
