Sofia Costa Macedo is a Guest Assistant Professor in the Department of History at ISCTE-Instituto Universitário de Lisboa and an Integrated Researcher at CIES-Iscte, where she contributes to the Portuguese Observatory of Cultural Activities (OPAC). She teaches in the Master's programs in Culture Studies and Management, focusing on Heritage Inventory and Interpretation and Cultural Heritage Projects.

She is a key contributor to the Atlas Artístico e Cultural de Portugal and leads the frameWork for the evaluatiOn of social transfoRmation Through cultural Heritage project.
Her scientific work includes articles in journals like the Journal of History of Society and Culture and Sociologia On Line, numerous book chapters, and frequent presentations at national and international conferences. She is actively involved in shaping cultural policy through research and public dissemination.
