Dr. Sofi Basseghi is a Lecturer (Education Focused) in the School of Art at RMIT University, based in Melbourne, Australia. She holds a Master of Fine Arts (2007) and a PhD in Art (2021), both from RMIT, alongside graduate studies in directing at the Victorian College of the Arts (2011). Her practice spans visual art, film, and video, interrogating cultural boundaries, political histories, and Persian literary influences. Notable exhibitions include Ripples from the Unseen (2021, The Substation) and Elysian Fields (2023, Counihan Gallery). Awards include a 2022 State Library of Victoria Fellowship and grants from Australia Council for the Arts and Creative Victoria.
