Marian Crawford

Marian Crawford is an Adjunct Senior Lecturer in the Department of Fine Art at Monash University. She holds a Master of Fine Art from RMIT University (2002) and a Bachelor of Arts in Fine Art from the University of Melbourne (1988). Her work explores the intersection of books, printmaking, and contemporary culture. Crawford has exhibited globally, including at the National Gallery of Victoria, STPI Singapore, and the China Academy of Art Biennial. She leads collaborative projects like The News Network, engaging artists and educators across institutions.

Her research focuses on artist books, printmaking processes, and socio-cultural narratives. Key achievements include the Siganto Fellowship (2015), residency awards, and multiple shortlistings. Crawford’s work is held in collections such as the British Library, National Gallery of Victoria, and State Libraries of Australia.

Her recent projects include Carbon Black (2024), critiquing coal extraction, and A Blizzard (2023), reinterpreting newspaper formats. Collaborative initiatives like the IMPACT Printmaking Conference (2011) reflect her commitment to interdisciplinary dialogue.
