Sobhi Samour is a researcher affiliated with the Palestine Economic Policy Research Institute (MAS) in Ramallah and the School of Oriental and African Studies (SOAS), University of London. During Spring 2017, he was at Columbia University working on a book project derived from his dissertation in the Department of Economics at SOAS.

His research explores the intersection of settler colonialism and neoliberalism in shaping the Palestinian economy. By analyzing structural nodes of these forces, he theorizes how class- and race-based governance mechanisms impact social and economic reproduction in Palestine. He challenges exceptionalist frameworks in Palestine studies through comparative analysis with other indigenous communities under settler colonial expansion.
Previously, Sobhi worked with UN development agencies in Geneva and Timor-Leste, applying his expertise in political economy to global development contexts.
