Dr. Smita Singh is a Senior Lecturer in Psychology at the Department of Psychology, School of Social and Health Sciences, James Cook University (Singapore). She holds a PhD from the National University of Singapore, an MPhil from the Indian Institute of Technology Bombay, and MA/BA degrees from Banaras Hindu University. Her research focuses on prosocial behavior, social cognition, and cross-cultural dynamics, particularly exploring how psychological distance, teaching styles, and digital media influence social judgments and decision-making. She has published widely on topics like palliative care knowledge, helicopter parenting, and online learning during the pandemic. Dr. Singh actively contributes to professional associations such as the Asian Association of Social Psychology and the International Association for Cross-Cultural Psychology.
