Siv Fagertun Remberg

Siv Fagertun Remberg is an Associate Professor at the Norwegian University of Life Sciences (NMBU), Faculty of Biosciences, Department of Plant Sciences. Her work centers on plant biology, sustainable food systems, and innovative plant production methods. She is actively engaged in teaching and research with strong emphasis on climate resilience and technological integration in horticulture.

Her research interests span sustainable agriculture, urban green systems, and advanced horticultural technologies. Key areas include:

• Climate-adapted production of berries
• Robotic harvesting using sensor technologies
• Postharvest handling of apples
• Green and smart cities integration (e.g., GreenSmart, SiEUGreen)
• Sustainable intensification of food systems

The trends in her research, as reflected in ongoing projects, show a strong focus on sustainability, automation, and climate resilience in horticultural value chains. These efforts align with broader goals of food security and urban-agricultural integration.

She is responsible for coordinating and teaching several academic courses at NMBU, including PJH105, PJH205, PJH230, PJH370, and BINT300, and contributes to teaching in PJH102, PJH250, PJH260, PJH360, and MVI275. She actively supervises MSc and PhD students, as well as those completing term papers and internships.
