Siobhan Carroll is an Associate Professor in the English Department at the University of Delaware, affiliated with the College of Arts & Sciences. She specializes in British literature from 1750–1850 and modern science fiction/fantasy, focusing on imperialism, environmental agency, and cultural studies. Her book An Empire of Air and Water (2015) explores uncolonizable spaces in Romantic-era British thought. She teaches courses on Romanticism, ecocriticism, and speculative fiction, and advises the Creative Writing Club.

Research Interests: Environmental humanities, colonialism, science fiction, board game studies, marine cultures, and speculative fiction's engagement with race, ecology, and globalization.
Recent Articles: Focus on climate change in Romantic literature, infrastructures of exploitation in Anthropocene fantasy, and the intersection of board games with globalization. Recent projects include Polar Prose (2023) and co-authored work on energy regimes in Walter Scott’s novels (2022).
Awards: Runner-up for BARS First Book Prize (2017), multiple grants including the General University Research Program (2023), and recognition for creative writing (Eugie Foster Memorial Award, Hugo finalist).
Grants & Service: Led the Environmental Humanities Faculty Research Group (2017–present), organized workshops for junior faculty, and served as Director of Graduate Studies (2017–2020). Active in professional societies like the Science Fiction Research Association.
Labs/Teams: Co-organizes the Environmental Humanities seminar and contributed to the Central Online Victorian Educator Digital Humanities Project.
