Sinn-Wen CHEN

Dr. Sinn-Wen CHEN is the Senior Vice President (Academics) and Chair Professor at National Tsing Hua University in Taiwan. He holds a Ph.D. in Materials Science from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. His career spans roles at the Alcoa Technical Center and faculty positions since 1992 at NTHU's Chemical Engineering Department.

Research Focus: His work centers on phase diagram determinations, solidification mechanisms, interfacial reactions in electronic solders, and thermoelectric materials. He has authored/co-authored over 190 journal papers and 10 patents.

Affiliations & Roles: He serves as an Associate Editor of the Journal of Electronic Materials (JEM) and chairs the Alloy Phase Committee of The Minerals, Metals & Materials Society (TMS). He has held visiting professorships at Lehigh University, École Polytechnique de l'Université de Nantes, and the University of Wisconsin-Madison.
