Shin-yi Peng is a Distinguished Professor of Law at National Tsing Hua University (NTHU), Taiwan, and a Senior Fellow at Melbourne Law School, University of Melbourne. Her expertise lies in international economic law, with a focus on digital trade, services trade, and data governance. She has held visiting positions at Georgetown Law, University of Wisconsin, and Maastricht University, and currently teaches International Economic Law and Digital Trade.
Shin-yi has served as Director of the Institute of Law for Science and Technology and Associate Dean of NTHU’s College of Technology Management. She is a former commissioner of Taiwan’s National Communications Commission and holds memberships in prominent legal organizations, including the WTO’s panelist list and Singapore-Taiwan FTA arbitration roster. She has contributed to the Society of International Economic Law as Executive Vice President and remains an editorial board member of leading journals.
Her research emphasizes the intersection of law and technology, reflected in her book *International Economic Law in the Era of Datafication* (Cambridge, 2024) and articles in top-tier journals like the European Journal of International Law and Journal of International Economic Law. She actively participates in global policy discussions through engagements with the WTO, APEC, and OECD.
