Simon Blackburn

Simon Blackburn is a Professor in the Department of Mathematics at Royal Holloway, University of London. His research focuses on combinatorics, cryptography, group theory, and the mathematics of communication. Recent projects include work on ribbon tilings, exponent-critical groups, and finite field matrix channels.

Recent publications address tiling entropy bounds, subgroup exponent analysis, and cryptographic communication models. Awards include a Certificate of Service from the IMA for his role as Royal Holloway IMA representative. PhD student Emma Smith and former student Luke Stewart are actively involved in his research.
