Siaw-Lynn Ng

Dr. Siaw-Lynn Ng is a Senior Lecturer in the Department of Information Security at Royal Holloway, University of London. With a PhD in Mathematics from the same institution (1998), her work bridges combinatorics, finite geometry, and their applications in information security, cryptography, and distributed storage systems.

Her research explores the symbiosis between discrete mathematics and information security, focusing on combinatorial properties of privacy, security protocols, and finite geometry in cryptographic systems. Recent work includes applications of finite geometric structures in content delivery systems and security frameworks.

Current research trends highlight combinatorial designs in cryptographic protocols (e.g., strong external difference families), secure swarm robotics, and anonymity mechanisms in peer-rating systems. Publications span journals like Archiv der Mathematik and Journal of Computer Security.
