Simon Allison

Dr Simon Allison is an Associate Lecturer at Curtin Law School (Curtin University), part of the Faculty of Business and Law. He holds a PhD in Law from the University of Cambridge and advanced degrees from the University of Western Australia. His research focuses on the intersection of public policy and international commercial law, particularly maritime law, arbitration, and insurance law. Simon has held various roles in government policy, legal practice, and academia, including internships at the International Maritime Organization and sessions teaching at the University of Western Australia. His work emphasizes legal frameworks governing private security at sea, environmental protection in salvage operations, and dispute resolution mechanisms.
