Nicholas Seddon

Nicholas Seddon is an Honorary Professor and Adjunct Professor at the ANU College of Law, Australian National University. With over forty years of academic experience across institutions in Australia and Papua New Guinea, his expertise spans contract law, commercial law, administrative law, and statutory interpretation. He advises Australian government agencies and the private sector on major contracts, acquisitions, and compliance with legislation such as the Public Governance, Performance and Accountability Act 2013, Commonwealth Procurement Rules, and the Competition and Consumer Act.

His teaching focuses on contracts, torts, property law, industrial law, and IT law at the graduate level. Research interests include private law and legal frameworks impacting public and private sectors. Seddon has contributed to policy development, including assisting the Department of Agriculture, Water and the Environment in crafting compliance procedures.
