Dr. Silvia Tedesco serves as Associate Professor for Sustainability at the Centre for Sustainable Innovation, Salford Business School, University of Salford, with over 10 years of academic experience specializing in biomass and waste organic material conversion for sustainable energy, fuels, and chemicals to replace non-renewable resources.
Her research interests include:
- Biomass conversion
- Waste valorisation
- Sustainable energy production
- Circular economy applications
- Decarbonisation strategies
Dr. Tedesco has secured competitive grants from Science Foundation Ireland, BBSRC, Innovate UK, and EPSRC via the SUPERGEN Bioenergy Hub. She actively collaborates with SMEs across Ireland, Italy, and the UK and participates in BBSRC’s Networks in Industrial Biotechnology and Bioenergy (NIBBs), focusing on advancing circular and decarbonising approaches for waste valorisation.
