Silvia Tedesco

Silvia Tedesco is an Associate Professor in the Department of Architecture and Design (DAD) at the Polytechnic University of Turin, specializing in Technological and Environmental Design of Architecture (CEAR-08/C). She is a member of the College of Architecture and Design and actively contributes to the PhD program 'Design and Technology. People, Environment, Systems' as well as Master's and Bachelor's programs in Architecture and Sustainable Design.

Her research focuses on sustainable architectural solutions with emphasis on:

• Active aging and social aspects of architecture
• Circular building products and design for recycling and reuse
• Living wall systems and nature-based solutions
• User-centered design approaches

Dr. Tedesco's work spans multiple disciplines including civil engineering, environmental architecture, sustainable design, and social aspects of health and aging. Her research integrates circular economy principles with architectural technology to address climate action and sustainable urban development. She has been instrumental in developing practical approaches for implementing green technologies in built environments, particularly focusing on cost-effective solutions for urban greenery and vertical greening systems.

She serves as Scientific Manager for numerous research projects including 'IGGPRIC: Implementation of the Greenhouse Gas Protocol - Carbon Footprint Reduction' (2025-2026), 'MIA Mitigation Environmental Impact' (2025), and various regional sustainability initiatives across Italy.

Dr. Tedesco supervises PhD students working on sustainable and circular systems, with current research focusing on Nature-Based Solutions and building material reuse. Her work bridges theoretical research with practical applications in sustainable architecture and urban design.
