Silvia Savazzi is a Full Professor at the University of Verona, affiliated with the Department of Neurosciences, Biomedicine and Movement Sciences. She directs the Perception and Awareness (PandA) Lab, focusing on perception, spatial awareness, and neurological impairments.
Her research investigates perceptual and spatial awareness in healthy individuals and patients with visual field defects or neglect. She employs techniques like behavioral analysis, EEG, fNIRS, and TMS to study neural mechanisms underlying consciousness and attention. Key projects include developing telerehabilitation protocols and understanding brain dynamics in visual awareness restoration.
In teaching, she offers modules on Advanced Methodologies in Neurological Physiotherapy, General Psychology, and Cognitive Rehabilitation to physiotherapy, linguistics, and medical students. She also contributes to third-mission activities like public engagement and continuing education.
